The Power to Praxis Reflection Cards and Companion Guide are a structured reflective practice resource designed to support ethical, inclusive, and justice-aligned decision making across the full project cycle in development, humanitarian, and social justice work.

This resource supports practitioners and organisations working at scale to move beyond values statements and technical compliance, and into sustained, accountable practice shaped by power, relationships, and context.

The Global Organisational License is designed for organisations embedding reflective, ethical, and decolonial practice across multiple regions, countries, and programs, including global teams and systems-level initiatives.

About the Resource

The 54-card deck offers carefully framed reflection questions organised across six phases of practice:

• Pre-Project

• Pre-Engagement

• Implementation

• Completion

• Meta-Reflection (systems and solidarity)

• Commitment

Each card invites practitioners to examine how power, purpose, relationships, and accountability shape their work in practice, not just in principle.

The Power to Praxis Companion Guide provides the conceptual grounding and practical support needed to use the cards with care. It includes:

• An introduction to reflexive praxis and decolonial design

• Guidance on using the cards in individual, team, and organisational contexts

• Facilitation approaches and safety and accountability considerations

• Tools for examining positionality, power, and institutional responsibility

• A glossary and theorist lineage grounding the work in decolonial, feminist, Indigenous, disability justice, and participatory traditions

The guide is designed to be entered non-linearly and returned to over time, supporting both individual reflection and collective learning.

These files are provided for internal organisational use in line with the terms of the Global Organisational License.

For Global Organisational Use

The Global Organisational License allows organisations, or formally constituted global programs or consortia, to use the Power to Praxis Reflection Cards and Companion Guide across multiple regions, countries, and programs.

This license is designed for organisations embedding reflective, ethical, and decolonial practice across global strategies, learning systems, and shared ways of working.

There is no limit on internal downloads across the licensed organisation.

What This Licence Allows

Under this license, the license holder may:

• Use the Power to Praxis Reflection Cards and Companion Guide across multiple regions and countries

• Use the materials with global, regional, and country teams

• Share the digital materials internally across the organisation or licensed global program

• Use the cards and guide in internal workshops, reflection spaces, and learning processes

• Integrate the reflection questions into global MEL, GEDSI, safeguarding, leadership, or organisational learning work

• Facilitate internal reflection using the materials, with proper attribution

This license applies to internal organisational or program use only.

What This Licence Does Not Allow

This licence does not permit:

• Redistribution of materials outside the licensed organisation or global program

• External training, consultancy, or facilitation for clients or third parties without written agreement

• Modification, rebranding, translation, or creation of derivative materials

• Uploading files to public, open-access, or broadly shared digital platforms

Why Licensing Exists

Power to Praxis was independently developed and self-funded as a justice-aligned practice resource.

Organisational licensing supports ethical use, fair contribution from organisations using the work at scale, and the ongoing development of reflective practice resources and learning spaces.

Licensing is part of practising accountability.
